What you need to know
BACKGROUND OF THE PROJECT
The Caraga Regional Science High School, Schools Division of Surigao City of the Department of Education located in Purok 10,Barangay San Juan of Surigao City was created by virtue of the
Republic Act No. 7901 on February 23, 1995, and pursuant to the DepEd Order No. 29, s. of 1996.
It used to follow the Science Curriculum that has enriched units in Science, Mathematics, and English in addition to standard requirements of the Basic Education Curriculum. Today, it has
adopted the K to 12 Curriculum; nonetheless, still implements the Promotion and Retention Policy.
Due to the Promotion and Retention Policy, the Cohort Survival Rate of the school from SY 2012- 2016 was only 80%. With the utilization of the modules, CRSHS has witnessed drastic increase of
the Cohort Survival Rate.
The CI project had proved successful over the years. Thus, from SY 2023-2024, the team aimed to improve the proficiency level of all JHS learners across learning areas.
WHAT WENT WELL
Comparing the results from SY 2022-2023 to SY 2023-2024, it is observed that CRSHS had maintained its level of proficiency. In general, all JHS learners received 90% and above in all learning areas.
This clearly indicates that the academic performance of all JHS learners belongs to the highly proficient level across all subjects.
Thus, the team aims to continue and expand the CI project to the SHS department and replicate the project to other schools for more learners’ benefit.
